Ohio Holstein Convention and Annual Meeting

The Ohio Holstein Convention and Annual Meeting was held at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham in Lima, Ohio. District 12 did a great job hosting the event on March 8-9!

More details and pictures from the weekend will be in the March / April issue of the Ohio Holstein News, but in the meantime – enjoy some of these pictures from the weekend! Thank you to all the farm tour stops for their hospitality and for Ty and Heather Etgen, Dallas Rynd, Judy Wolford and the entire convention committee for planning a great event that brought in breeders from all over the state for a time of fellowship.

2024 January / February Ohio Holstein News

The January / February Ohio Holstein News has been published and is arriving in mailboxes now! There are so many great ads by Ohio breeders and exhibitors, as this is the All Ohio and Junior All Ohio issue!

There is also a feature on the farms you will be able to tour as part of the Ohio Holstein Convention on March 8 in District 12.

Junior All-Ohio Honorees

Congratulations to the Junior All Ohio Winners from the 2023 show season. These youth were honored on the Ohio Holstein Association Facebook page, have been published in the January / February 2024 Ohio Holstein News and will be honored in person at the Ohio Holstein Association Convention and Annual Meeting awards banquet on March 9 in Lima, Ohio.

Many of these exhibitors, breeders and animals were extremely competitive on a national level as well!

George Miller Memorial Scholarship Application

Applications are now open for the George Miller Memorial Scholarship!

The $1,000 scholarship is hosted by the Holstein Foundation, awarded by Holstein Association USA, and is supported by Select Sires Inc. genetic programs. It aims to support a college student pursuing an agricultural degree who serves as a leader within the dairy industry and their communities.

Applications are due by April 1, 2024. The scholarship will be awarded at the 2024 National Holstein Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Ohio Holstein Queen is accepting contestants for the   2024   year. We encourage young Ohio Holstein women,   at least 16   years of age as of January 1, 2024, to look into   this opportunity   to represent the Ohio Holstein industry   at shows and events.
