Wil-San Registered Holsteins owned by Bill and Sandy Besancon, welcomes Ohio Holstein Convention attendees on March 7th as part of the convention farm tours.

5693 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, OH 

The farm was acquired in 1868 by C.Z. Yoder, who purchased 102 acres, which constitutes the current farm. In 1895, the director of the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station encouraged him to construct one of the first greenhouses in Ohio for the production of leaf lettuce and fruits. Over the years, the farm grew and the greenhouses expanded to eventually cover 18,000 square feet. Yoder also began milking Guernsey cows from 1920 to 1950.

Welcome to Miley Holstein Farms

Miley Holstein Farms has been milking registered Holsteins since the 1950s. It’s truly a family affair, with Joe and Diana Miley; their son Jason and his wife, Amy, along with their children, Samantha, Andrew, and Austin; Jon and Amy Miley, with their sons, David and Adam; and Adam’s wife, Kari, and their son, Lincoln, all working together, along with the help of one dedicated high school student employee.

Pine Tree Dairy in Marshallville, Ohio, is run by Matt Steiner and his family.

The Steiner family at Pine-Tree Dairy welcomes Holstein enthusiasts as they converge on District 7 for the Ohio Holstein Convention Farm Tours on March 7th. 

Pine-Tree Dairy is home to over 1400 head of cattle that are milked in parlors and robots. Six siblings keep the wheels in motion with help from the next generation including Hannah Steiner who was featured in our debut of the Two-Week Peek in the Ohio Holstein News.

Welcome to Springhill Farm, Big Prairie, Ohio

Farm Address: 

7249 State Route 514, Big Prairie, OH

Springhill Farm was established in 1819 and has been an existing dairy with registered cattle for over 120 years. Originally, Guernseys called Springhill home until the mid-1970s when Holsteins were introduced. Dojimar Reflection Hope was purchased as an open heifer and was bred to Elevation, with Langacres Elevation Hope born on November 24, 1975. Hope was the second Holstein calf born on the farm and paved the way for the next 50 years of involvement in the Holstein breed.
